DISCOVERY HUBS

Exciting news about the Broads Discovery Hubs

Conceived and built by the Broads Charitable Trust, Discovery Hubs are designed to promote The Broads as a sustainable, car-free destination, creating a network that provides a way to explore the Broads on foot, by bike and on the water. As accessible information points, they explain the history, wildlife and landscape of the area and will encourage people to visit the many and varied aspects of the National Park. They are great places to relax and soak up the unique atmosphere of the Broads and to access local services, attractions and experiences.

Three sites have been identified – the seafront at Great Yarmouth, Salhouse Broad and Beccles Quayside – in what will be the first phase of the project to further promote the Norfolk Broads for visitors. The Salhouse hub has been open for just over a month and the other 2 locations will be completed early July.

We are delighted to announce a launch sponsor for our Discovery Hubs

A leading tourism and leisure business that has operated in Norfolk and Suffolk’s iconic Broads National Park for nearly 80 years, has been named as the launch partner and lead sponsor of the area’s distinctive new network of visitor hubs, currently being built in popular locations across the area. Richardson’s Leisure, led by chief executive Greg Munford, is providing significant funding in a three-year sponsorship deal which will support the completion of the network of Hubs and fund the position of a ranger. The ranger will work across the sites of the existing three Discovery Hubs, all of which will be open this summer, and will follow through as more Hubs are constructed.
