Love the Broads presents 2019 grant cheques to four amazing projects

A grant cheque for more than £5,000 has been presented to four amazing projects which will help wildlife, an iconic building, the visitor experience and people’s wellbeing in the Broads National Park.   Businesses, Members and grant beneficiaries attended the presentation which was held at the Nancy Oldfield HQ at Neatishead on a very sunny and warm day.   The grant beneficiaries are:

Suffolk Otter Group – £822 – surveying of the otter population at three Suffolk Wildlife Trust  Nature Reserves in the Lower Waveney

Norfolk Wildlife Trust – £2,125 – for an interpretation board on Heron’s Carr boardwalk overlooking Barton Broad (part of Tipping the Balance)

Friends of Thurne Mill – £2,034 – capturing memories of the past of this iconic Mill through digital and pictorial documents to be available online and through libraries and Mill archives

Nancy Oldfield Trust – £500 – to purchase presentation equipment to raise additional funds for free boating activities for people who are in palliative care or who have received diagnosis of a terminal illness. This project was exclusively supported by Norfolk Broads Direct.
